The series of field trips has been organised over three days on 7th, 8th and 9th October 2025. This year’s event entails visits to sites in Galway and Mayo and has Agriculture and Peatlands as its core theme. Starting and finishing in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, the programme includes visits to seven peatland sites

Note also that in June next year 2026 the Society is planning to host an international field-based conference, with Agriculture and Peatlands as its core theme, and both this and last year’s autumn study tours have been scoped as a lead-in to the 2026 event.
